Canine Candy Biscuits was started based on the other treats I saw on the market. Most common dog treats contain mostly fillers, lots of salts and byproducts. Gross. Working in a brewery, I wanted to incorporate the malt of the brewing process into something reusable. The malt is simply the used in the mashing process. This steeps the grains in hot water to hydrate the barley to active the enzymes. This converts the hard to digest starches into fermentable sugars for your beer! These grains are usually discarded and sent to farms for livestock feed. With some more research, I realized how healthy this “waste” actually was! I’ve always prided myself on the way I treat and what I feed my dog. I want his treats to match!
